Description

Louis Mayaud is the current CTO at Rhythm Diagnostic Systems (RDS), a world leading vital sign monitoring company. He holds a D.Phil. in Healthcare Innovation from the University of Oxford. His doctoral research focused on using genetic algorithms to select relevant data and optimize non-convex models for predicting mortality in severe sepsis patients in the ICU, utilizing the Harvard-MIT MIMIC-3 database. While at Oxford, he also led a project to develop a brain-computer interface for communication with non-verbal ICU patients. Following his D.Phil., Mayaud spent five years at Mensia Technologies, a rising company in home-based neuropsychiatric medical devices. He directed both computer-based and clinical innovation, in Paris and then Boston (MA), notably initiating and overseeing the €3.6 million NEWROFFED European Project (H2020 SME biomarker). This three-year international project resulted in a large-scale randomized controlled trial validation and the CE clearance of a Class IIa medical device for home-based ADHD treatment.
